-Our Story-

Our journey as private jewelers began many years ago when our founder, Kyle, discovered his passion for creating beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry. With a keen eye for detail and a love for working with precious metals and stones, Kyle began crafting custom pieces for friends and family. As word of his talent spread, Kyle decided to turn his passion into a business. He assembled a small team of skilled artisans and together they opened a private-jeweler business. Their focus was on creating one-of-a-kind pieces that reflected the individual style and taste of each client. Over the years, our business grew and we developed a loyal following of clients who appreciated the quality and craftsmanship of our work, but we never lost sight of our roots as private jewelers. Each piece we create is still made with the same care and attention to detail as when we first started. Now, we're excited to be expanding our business online. By launching our website, we're able to reach a wider audience and offer our services to customers all over the world. But even as we grow, we remain committed to our roots as private jewelers. Our focus is still on creating custom pieces that reflect the individual style and taste of each customer.

-Choosing Diamond Jewelry-

Choosing diamond jewelry can be an exciting but daunting task, especially if you're not familiar with the characteristics of diamonds. But don't worry, we're here to help guide you through the process. One of the first things to consider when choosing diamond jewelry is the quality of the diamond itself. Diamond quality is evaluated using a system known as the 4Cs: Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cut.

Carat refers to the weight of a diamond. The larger the diamond, the higher its carat weight and value.

Color refers to the presence or absence of color in a diamond. Diamonds can range from colorless (the most valuable) to yellow or brown (less valuable). A "fancy" diamond has a distinct body color; red, blue, and green are rarest, and orange, violet, yellow, and yellowish green more common.

Clarity refers to the presence or absence of internal characteristics (known as inclusions) or external characteristics (known as blemishes) in a diamond. The fewer inclusions and blemishes a diamond has, the higher its clarity grade and value.

Cut refers to how well a diamond has been cut and shaped. A well-cut diamond will have better proportions, symmetry, and polish, which will enhance its brilliance and fire.

When choosing diamond jewelry, it's important to consider which of these characteristics are most important to you. For example, if size is your main priority, you may want to focus on finding a larger carat weight diamond. If you prefer a diamond with no visible inclusions or blemishes, you may want to focus on finding a high clarity grade diamond. Our team of experts is always here to help guide you through the process of choosing diamond jewelry. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

Natural Diamonds

Diamonds are the hardest, naturally-occurring substance on earth. They are also considered by many as the most precious.

Here at RSVR Jewelers, we are pleased to provide both Lab-Grown diamonds and
Natural diamonds based on your personal preference.

Both kinds of diamonds are 100% real and authentic. Natural diamonds, however, take millions of years to form and costs millions of dollars to mine which is reflected in the high-value price tag due to the rarity and challenges faced when obtaining them.

Lab-Grown Diamonds

Not to get confused with "imitation" diamonds or "simulants", lab-grown diamonds are exactly the same as natural diamonds at a third of the cost. Lab-grown diamonds may also be referred to as synthetic diamonds.

The main difference between natural diamonds and lab-grown diamonds are the way they were formed, and in the environments that they were created. Lab-grown diamonds are made in a lab in conditions designed to mimic the same environment of extreme heat and pressure of how natural diamonds are formed. Otherwise, they are identical to natural diamonds in every aspect. They have the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds and exhibit the same fire, scintillation and sparkle.

Natural diamonds are formed over millions of years and are then found and mined. Lab-grown diamonds can be formed within a couple months.

Professional jewelers and gemologists cannot tell the difference between natural and
lab-grown diamonds, regardless of what they might tell you. The only way to differentiate
between the two is by the grading certificate (GIA, IGI…) provided for each
stone or by using a gem identifying machine (GIA iD100) screening device. Lab-grown diamonds also have an inscription on the girdle to identify that they are in fact lab-grown. You need a loupe to see this and is not optically visible to the human eye.

Moissanite & Other Gemstones

Moissanite was first discovered in 1893 and initially came from meteors. This means moissanite actually originated outside of our solar system. Not long ago, humans found a way to create these gemstones in a lab to mass produce them. Before this, natural moissanite was actually more rare than natural diamonds.

Moissanite is the most similar gemstone to diamonds, and is considered the best “diamond alternative”. CZ (Cubic Zirconia) stones are another diamond alternative, but moissanite is considered a much higher-quality option. Moissanite stones actually score higher than diamonds on the refractive index, meaning they shine and sparkle more than real diamonds. Moissanite scores a 9.5 on the mohs hardness scale, which measures a minerals hardness, with a diamond scoring a perfect 10. Moissanite will also pass a standard diamond tester due to the stones’ very high thermal conductivity.

Some prefer to buy moissanite stones over diamonds considering the economic benefits and lower costs. Moissanite is up-trending as a viable option specifically for the use in modern-day engagement rings. Moissanite is in it's own category of gemstones, just like diamonds are but due to supply and demand, prices for moissanite are much more affordable.

In addition to moissanite, we will begin to offer natural emerald, ruby, sapphire and black onyx gemstones among many others to accomodate each clients' differing tastes in stone type, color and size.

*Feel free to contact us at customs@rsvr.co if there is a specific gemstone you would like to see in one of our products.

Precious Metals

We use a variety of precious metals to create unique combinations of jewelry which
provides a number of different options for clients to meet their personal preferences and/or desired budget.

925 Silver/Sterling Silver – Fine silver is 99.9% pure silver which is too soft to make jewelry with. Silver is usually combined with other alloys (zinc, copper, nickel) to increase its hardness and strength. Sterling Silver is an alloy of 92.5% silver and 7.5% other alloys which is where we derive the name “925” silver.

Sterling silver/925 silver is prone to tarnishing and wears down faster than gold and platinum over time. Due to this reason, we do not offer products with any real diamonds (natural and lab-grown) in any silver jewelry. We do, however, offer moissanite stones in silver, gold-plated and real gold jewelry.

925 Silver + Gold Vermeil (Plating) – Gold Vermeil or Plating is a method of applying a thick layer of real gold onto the surface of 925 Silver. This can create the appearance of having real gold at a fraction of the cost.

Just like 925 Silver, Gold Vermeil metals still tend to tarnish and lose it’s shine over time. The extra layers of gold do act as a “protective shield" for the silver, but this will not entirely remove the potential of tarnishing. Speed of tarnishing is dependent on the conditions of the wearer. As a rule of thumb, wearers should try to not wear their silver and gold-plated jewelry in showers and while swimming. This will help prolong the condition of jewelry.

10K, 14K, 18K Gold – Just like silver, pure gold (24K) is too soft to use for jewelry. Normal wear would quickly blur and/or remove any designs. This is why we specifically offer 10k, 14k and 18k gold options.

10K yellow gold contains 37.5% pure gold and 62.5% other metals. Our 10K gold contains 37.5% gold, 52% silver, 4.9% copper, 4.2% zinc and 1.4% nickel. 10k white gold is a composition of 41.7% pure gold, 47.4% silver, 10% palladium and 0.9% zinc.

14K yellow gold contains 58.5% pure gold, 25% silver and 17% copper. Whereas 14K white gold contains 58.5% pure gold, 20% copper, 14.5% nickel and 7.5% zinc. The nickel and zinc give the gold a white appearance.

18K yellow gold contains 75% pure gold, 12.5% silver and 12.5% copper. 18K white gold contains 75% pure gold, 15% nickel, 5% copper and 5% zinc.

*Rose gold contains a higher percentage of copper and slightly more gold, which gives it more of a rose tone.

Platinum is almost always more valuable than gold. It’s a rarer metal and platinum jewelry
has higher densities and purities than gold jewelry. You also need more platinum to make the same type of jewelry in gold, which would add to why it may come at a higher price tag.

In addition, platinum is extremely resistant to tarnishing and corrosion. It is also very soft and malleable, making it easy to shape. It is ductile making it easy to stretch into wire and unreactive which means it doesn’t oxidize and is unaffected by common acids.

Overall, platinum jewelry is a much more durable, but also more expensive option in comparison to gold jewelry.

  • -Overall-

It really comes down to personal preference when purchasing any of our jewelry. Here at RSVR Jewelers, we want to offer each client the choice to purchase exactly what they want.

There are many sustainable benefits when purchasing lab-grown diamonds and moissanite stones over natural diamonds. They are both man-made, meaning no mining is used. This results in limiting the carbon footprint as people do not have to operate machinery to excavate it, and ecosystems are not affected by its mining production. They also come at a significantly lower price tag.

With that said, there is still a large population that sees natural diamonds as the only “real” diamond to purchase. When it comes to engagement rings, tradition and symbolism play a major role. The diamond has long been considered the ultimate symbol of love and commitment, and natural diamonds have been the go-to choice for engagement rings for generations. When it comes to engagement rings, the sentimental value of a natural diamond is worth the investment for many.

We strive to make all clients and customers happy. Whether that means buying due to personal preference, or meeting one’s specific budget, we do not want to deny anyone from purchasing what they love the most.
